AWOL: A Week of Links

Election themed! Who'da guessed.

  • Since they don't have anything better to do, some folks in England decided to blow up a huge figure of Sarah Palin in an annual fireworks tradition.
  • The full story isn't known, but it appears that  this guy is being arrested for being at or near an Obama victory celebration with the wrong shirt on. Honestly, I'd have a hard time picturing the crowd acting like this if the parties were reversed.
  •  I want this poster. In fact, it was my desktop background for a while.
  • My interweb-friend Kato wrote a thoughtful letter to the then-undecided President-elect about the situation he faces. How many hyphenated words can I fit in one sentence?
  • Wired's Danger Room blog paints a bleak picture for the next President's political inheritance. If nothing else, just check out the photo.
  • woot has been hard at work, uncovering the new administration's dirty secrets before it even starts.
  • Obama launched a new government website change.gov to offer information regarding the Presidential transition and provide a place for people to express their concerns. I must admit, it looks like a good idea.
  • And of course, we can't hire a new President without taking the time to reflect on the man who has led this country for the past 8 years, George W Bush.
There, now just one more post on the election's outcome and implications, and we can put all of this stuff behind us until January 20th.

Just got your comment. Hmm, maybe you've got something there. But should it really shock me that there was a human head still in the hat when I got it? LOL! JK! Wow. That was sick. Sorry ;)
