Parents aren't right all the time you know.There are times where parents aren't acting in a child's best interests.If the treaty were ratified,there'd be a way out for abused children in the USA.There'd probably be an increase in prosecutions,especially for hardliners who are hell-bent on "not bowing to the UN".The impact on children would be in their best interests,especially as they grow older.

Anonymous: Ah yes, I'm sure parents will suddenly become much better at that when government takes over their job. Nothing like a good regulation to inspire ethical behavior. However, I hope you're not wanting to instill the "Golden Rule" in your own children, because that's a religious belief that they will have to decide for themselves rather than having it taught to them.

This is scary. he UNCRC wants to raise hellians to create a sort of chaos. I want to be able to spank my child... if i weren't spanked, i'd be an awful person. just FYI
